An Update - Four Months in a Nutshell.

Since it has been so long since my last post let me give you a quick run down of what I've been up to since December. I've been pulling fun and random freelance gigs left and right - a tour,a few shoots, a lot of edits, etc. I spent the end of January and early February on my 2nd tour as tour videographer with Epitaph act Vanna. MUCH different than my first tour on the Bamboozle Roadshow - I didn't live in a bus this time around. Instead we got around in a 15 passenger van and we slept on random people's floors across America. It was in the Winter in the North East this time around and not Springtime in TX, FL, GA, like the last tour. I pretty much froze my ass off the entire tour - but I had so much fun. Driving around in a van for a few weeks was amazing. I finally went to NYC thanks to this tour, found a bar that serves free pizza with each drink order, needless to say I drank and ate a lot of pizza. NYC was a great city, I just wish I could have stayed longer than one day. I ended up shooting over 50 tapes - and I've edited 5 segments for the band. I'll post them here when they're live, they're hilarious pieces because the Vanna dudes are hilarious people. If you're into that hardcore stuff, definitely check them out - they fucking rule.

Shortly after that, I picked up a freelance job with lp33.tv working as an editor at SXSW in Austin. I didn't have any insane desire to go to SXSW 'til I had this opportunity. The city is completely overtaken by music for 4 or 5 days - it was amazing. Unfortunately, I was working...I was editing from about 9:30AM - 10:00PM everyday so I didn't get to catch all the acts I wanted to see - I got to see a few shows, though. I saw Gallows in a tiny pub, it was without a doubt the best punk show I've EVER seen - the stage was super small so the band (except for the drummer) ended up playing most of the set on the floor with the crowd. It felt like a house party - Frank got on top of the bar shattered a lamp that was hanging from the ceiling and a few people in the crowd were bleeding from the shattered glass - it was absurd! I also caught A Day to Remember, and P.O.S. - both fantastic sets as well. A lot of the fun came from the tour bus ride to Texas and back as well - The LP33.tv folks are awesome!

I've been back from those travels for about a month now - taking it a little bit easier. Keeping busy, but not stressing from being overloaded. Life is good. After posting the Beatbreaks video a few days ago, I really want to do another short film / documentary for myself. We'll see what happens. Currently on my plate - I'm working on videos for Jack's Mannequin and Evan Taubenfeld for Warner Bros. Records, and I'm wrapping a viral video I pieced together for The Pretenders. Keep an eye out for links to projects that I feel like posting. And yes I will try to blog a bit more if I'm not overloaded!!!

Finally, a post - Beatbreaks.

OK so I haven't updated in 4 months. Who Cares.

Let's get right to this - If you remember from my last blog post in December I was working on setting up a drum circle at pershing square. All of that was for a final video project for one of my last college classes. I wrapped this project up in December and hesitated to post it for several stupid reasons. Well, now I'm pretty much over whatever was holding me back from posting it, so here it is for your viewing pleasure:

I'll work on posting more - Since my last post I finished up college. I've been doing out of college things like working my ass of to pay for student loans. No worries though, I had some fun along the way. I toured in Janurary, I went to SXSW for the first time, and I got paid for both! Talk about a win win situation. Stay tuned, but don't hold your breath.
